I have been focusing on three things: 1) My Massage Marketing Blog 2) My new Green to Profit Blog 3) And my Freelance Writing Career Website. I have just implemented a fantastic tool (that is if you are a freelance writer and looking for job opportunities): You can subscribe to receive daily emails with the latest job offers from 25 job and bidding sites on the net. Or you can keep up to date with an RSS feed. That's why I have neglected this site. Fair enough reason?

I went through the Simpleology course on Blogging. My verdict: Great if you want to get a good overview on blogging, but not specific enough to help you make the most important decisions.

It outlines what the important decisions are:

Choosing your niche
How to generate high quality content
How to build traffic
Possible ways to monetize

It also gives some good pointers of other resources on the Internet to do all these things. But it does not give specific help or advice which route to take.

It is still free, so I highly recommend grabbing it quickly. But you need a blog to do that. Then again, if you interested in learning about blogging, you already have one, or you can just set one up for free. It tells you how.

All morning I have been surfing the Internet and gathering information about blogging.

Then I checked my emails and in came an invitation from Mark Joyner to review his new Simpleology Blogging Course.

So now I'm evaluating a multi-media course on blogging from the folks at Simpleology. For a while, they're letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.

It's been 3 weeks that I have been using Spam Arrest. It is great. I got used to choosing the email sender account in Outlook. Only takes a second. One other drawback is that there are some automated emails that I want to receive. I had to manually add them to the authenticated emails. That took a bit of extra time in the first few days. And one person complained that they had to go through the authenticate process. I was happy to explain why that was and now she is looking at Spam Arrest as well. Definitely a worthwhile investment. (They've got this special for $20 for 6 months at sign-up.)

I just received a glowing email from a friend. She was so excited that she had found this organisation that is making a huge impact on small - well in fact tiny - businesses: Kiva.org. They are giving micro loans to entrepreneurs in developing countries. That concept is great anyway, but this website takes it one step further and makes you feel as though you are a personal part of it.

I have come across it probably 6 or 7 times, but finally took action: Spam Arrest. It is not your common spam filter that applies rules. Instead every email gets checked against your personal database of allowed senders (individuals and domain names). It took about 30 minutes to set up (with 3 different email accounts, all the settings in Outlook and importing my existing contacts. I also look at the unverified emails daily to refine my allowed list, but after only 5 hours with it, it already shows me a 60 spam rate. That is cutting down my time to go through my emails by 60! Wow. The only drawback is that whenever I answer an email, I need to choose the email account I want to send from (whereas before Outlook selected that automatically). There is a 30 free trial, but I took half a year immediately. I'll keep you updated how that works for me.
